ITV soap viewers will know that evil scaffolder Theo (played by James Cartwright) was found dead at the end of Corrie’s murder week. This came after Theo subjected his husband, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), to months of abuse.

The police have since launched a murder investigation, with Corrie confirming six official suspects. They include Todd, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Gary Windass (Mikey North), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).

George was the first suspect to face police questioning, followed by Gary, who recently deleted a CCTV video of himself damaging Theo’s work van.

As the scaffolder faced mounting pressure, his wife, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), concocted a false alibi, which led to his release.

However, some damning new evidence came to light at the end of Thursday’s (May 7) episode. Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) were scrolling through their photos from the night of the murder, not realising that one of them seemingly incriminated Gary.

A figure who looked like Gary could be seen at the back of Sally and Tim’s selfie. They were walking away from the scaffolding near Theo and Todd’s flat, where the abuser was found dead.

However, some fans now believe that the figure wasn’t Gary at all. While some people see a resemblance to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), many others believe it looks like Emmerdale villain Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

These viewers are convinced the possible cameo could be related to Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown), who was seen escaping the van of Joe’s right-hand man, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), during the Corriedale crossover.

“Just watched today’s episode. Anyone worked out who this is in the background?” one person wrote on a Facebook fan page.

An incriminating photo was revealed

Someone else replied, “Looks like Joe from Emmerdale,” and another agreed, “I thought that too!”

A third said, “Another crossover?” with another viewer similarly sharing, “If it is Joe Tate, maybe there might now be an explanation as to why Jodie ended up in Corrie. She ‘escaped’ from a car with a USB during the Corriedale crossover, didn’t she?”

A fifth fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “I thought Joe Tate too!” with another commenting: “Probably lol. [He] seems to have a finger in everyone’s pie lol.”

Corrie producer Kate Brooks previously confirmed that viewers will find out Jodie’s connection to Emmerdale legend Graham.

“We will absolutely reveal what went on between them and what Graham’s role was in it all. Keep a lookout for it, because it’s story that goes on to be really big as we get into spring and summer. There’s a lot of drama for the Platts coming up!” she teased.

Was Joe Tate in Weatherfield last week, and was it to do with Jodie? Only time will tell.
