Coronation Street fans floored as Emmerdale villain ‘exposed’ as killer in ‘crossover’
Coronation Street fans are convinced they’ve spotted a soap crossover after incriminating evidence came to light
Fans of Coronation Street believe they’ve spotted an Emmerdale legend on the cobbles after this week’s selfie clue.
ITV soap viewers will know that villainous scaffolder Theo (played by James Cartwright) was discovered dead at the conclusion of Corrie’s murder week. This followed months of Theo tormenting his husband, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), with relentless abuse.
Police officers have since begun a murder inquiry, with Corrie naming six official suspects. They include Todd, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), Gary Windass (Mikey North), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), and Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).

George became the first suspect to endure police interrogation, followed by Gary, who recently erased CCTV footage of himself vandalising Theo’s work van.
As the scaffolder encountered increasing pressure, his wife, Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), fabricated an alibi that secured his release, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Nevertheless, some devastating fresh evidence emerged at the conclusion of Thursday’s (May 7) instalment. Sally (Sally Dynevor) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) were browsing through their photographs from the night of the murder, unaware that one seemingly implicated Gary.
A silhouette resembling Gary was visible in the background of Sally and Tim’s selfie. They were walking away from the scaffolding near Theo and Todd’s flat, where the abuser was discovered deceased.

However, some fans now reckon that the figure wasn’t Gary at all. While a few see a likeness to Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), many others are convinced it looks like Emmerdale baddie Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

These viewers are certain the potential cameo could be related to Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown), who was seen fleeing the van of Joe’s right-hand man, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), during the Corriedale crossover.
“Just watched today’s episode. Anyone worked out who this is in the background?” one individual posted on a Facebook fan page.
Another responded, “Looks like Joe from Emmerdale,” and another concurred, “I thought that too!”
A third queried, “Another crossover?” with another viewer similarly suggesting, “If it is Joe Tate, maybe there might now be an explanation as to why Jodie ended up in Corrie. She ‘escaped’ from a car with a USB during the Corriedale crossover, didn’t she?”
A fifth fan echoed the sentiment, stating: “I thought Joe Tate too!” with another remarking: “Probably lol. [He] seems to have a finger in everyone’s pie lol.”
Corrie producer Kate Brooks previously confirmed that viewers will discover Jodie’s connection to Emmerdale legend Graham.
“We will absolutely reveal what went on between them and what Graham’s role was in it all. Keep a lookout for it, because it’s story that goes on to be really big as we get into spring and summer. There’s a lot of drama for the Platts coming up!” she hinted.
Did Joe Tate visit Weatherfield last week, and was his presence connected to Jodie or Theo’s murder? Only time will tell.
