It looks like the worst has come to pass on General Hospital. Lucas’ love and Sidwell’s son, Marco, is dead. Liz and Isaiah couldn’t save him after Cullum’s brutal, bloody stabbing. And Alexis just didn’t make it to him in time. Despite everyone’s attempts to save Marco’s life, he paid the ultimate price for doing the right thing, swiping Britt’s meds (which Cullum destroyed anyway) and doing everything he could to redeem himself.

More: Jason’s farewell makes sense now

Adrian Anchondo, who joined the show a year ago in March of 2025 as Blaze’s brother and Eva’s son, teased his character’s fate on Tuesday. He shared General Hospital‘s behind the scenes post of Marco’s stabbing on Instagram and promised that we would find out if it was the end of the road for Marco on Wednesday. And now we’ve learned that it is.

“I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to this team,” he wrote. “They worked so many hours on me with so much care. Not only are they super talented at make up, hair, and wardrobe, but they’re always there to hype us up and listen. So happy to call them my friends.

We can’t say we’re surprised with how over the moon Lucas was about Marco and how sure in their love he felt. There was just too much joy for the show not to rip out from under Lucas and us in three heart-pounding days. But still, we hoped that maybe, against all odds, Liz and Isaiah had, indeed, stabilized Marco.

But then we saw the look on Liz’s face when she finally saw Lucas. That was heartbreaking enough, and then she told him Marco was gone. He’d just lost too much blood. And Lucas’ farewell just about shattered us. But this is just the beginning. Things are going to get so much worse when Lucas realizes how hard he’s fought to save the life of Marco’s murderer. He already said he blames himself for putting Marco in danger.

And Sidwell? Isaiah broke the news to him and we can all be sure he’s going to rain hellfire down upon whoever did this to his son. If he and Lucas figure out what happened and team up, then Cullum’s survival, we can be sure, is little more than a temporary blip

Then again, with Sidwell already blaming Sonny, it seems that all bets could be off. Even we felt for the villain as he broke down over his son’s body. Now, though, it’s time to mourn and say farewell to Marco and give Anchondo a round of applause for one incredible run and unforgettable exit.
