If there’s one thing General Hospital‘s Lucas and Sidwell have in common right now, it’s that they’re both out for blood. Though we’d venture to say that Lucas wants justice for Marco’s death, while Sidwell will happily get revenge. At least, we think Lucas wants justice.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Van Hansis admitted that, “I think there will be no backing down to try to get Marco the justice that he deserves.” Lucas, as he told Dante, is locked in making Marco’s killer pay.

But if that’s so, why didn’t he just tell Dante what was happening? Why not draw the noose around Cullum? Is he afraid? Unsure of what to do? Has he not made the connection yet? Or is there something more in his mind?

We’ve speculated that Lucas and Sidwell could team up to take out Cullum in the hospital. But if Thursday’s episode was any indication, Britt and Josslyn could beat them to the punch. That is, unless Britt ends up balking. Because at that point, Lucas might be more than willing to use his hospital access and play ball the way Joss wants!

Plus, Jenz would first have to find out what happened. Right now, he’s putting the blame squarely on Sonny and making Cullum pay isn’t anywhere on his radar. And while he’s starting to blame himself for Marco’s death, that could switch if he finds out his partner murdered his son because of the stolen vials. Stolen, we should add, because of Lucas and Britt!

At that point, he could turn on the man Marco loved, despite his touching, literal embrace of Lucas that we just watched. And at that point, Lucas may be forced to find allies where he can, teaming up again with Britt, Josslyn… or worse!

“It’s so good and so complicated how everybody starts spinning around each other in this devastation,” Hansis teased of the storyline ripples spreading out across the canvas. “As sad as this story is, the aftermath has been really fun to play.”

As he pointed out, nothing is better than a soap at the top of its game. We don’t know what’s coming next, but we’ve a feeling that whatever does, Lucas could end up endangering not just himself, but his ethics, his decency and his heart.
