General Hospital is about to get dark. Granted, with supervillains and mobsters running around, it often is, but Sidwell just stepped up his war with Sonny by sending Cassius “Nathan” Faison after the mob boss. And the worst part is, Sidwell’s looking for revenge for something Sonny didn’t even do: Killing Marco!

The question now is, what does Sidwell’s “make Sonny pay by any means necessary” mean? And how far will Cassius go? That may all depend on how much of what he’s been doing as “Nathan” is an act. If he truly has fallen for Lulu, he’ll probably keep protecting Rocco. If that’s a ruse, then he could turn Sonny’s grandson in for the attempted murder of WSB Director Cullum.

Or, if he’s as dangerous as the Faison name implies, he could go for an “eye for an eye” approach and try taking out one of Sonny’s kids. Our bet would be Kristina, to avoid pulling the Quartermaines into things and to avoid the heat that would come if they killed the Port Charles police commissioner, Dante.

Or, heck, Cassius could try going after Sonny himself! Whatever comes next, though, if Sonny’s left standing, Sidwell may have signed his death warrant. As one fan joked on X that it’s felt like Sonny’s retired from the mob these days to pamper Fiz, Maurice Benard made it very clear that we’ve just about seen the end of cuddly Sonny!

“Sonny’s coming back with a vengeance,” he replied, “and everybody [who] thinks he isn’t, better watch out!”

After Cullum’s shooting and Jason’s arrest, we’ve already seen him pull Ric in to plan on how to take care of Sidwell and Cullum for good. There’s blood in the water, and Sonny’s not playing. Will he or “Nathan” strike first?

If one of Sonny’s family members ends up paying a price, even if it’s not fatal, Sidwell’s not just going down, we’re pretty sure he’ll be going into the ground. Sonny puts his enemies down without a blip on his consciences. He gunned down John Cates in cold blood and killed A.J. — Michael’s own father — because Sonny thought he killed his beloved Connie.

Going after someone in his family? “Nathan,” Sidwell, Cullum — the whole lot of them will be dead and gone before they even know what hit them. Sidwell’s only hope is that he figures out who really killed Marco before it’s too late.
