General Hospital: Willow’s Secret Co-Conspirator in Drew Cain’s Drugging Exposed!

Last week on General Hospital, local criminal mastermind Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) decided that he wanted Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) to complete the remainder of her incapacitated husband Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) term in Congress — something he felt confident he could arrange given that Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) was responsible for recommending Drew’s successor to the governor, and unfortunately for Laura, Sidwell has her under his thumb. But in the Thursday, February 26 episode, fans got a lot more information about what’s really been going on between Willow and Sidwell!
Political Insider
A bubbly Sidwell dropped in on the Cain residence and crowed to Willow that today was the day her career in politics would officially begin. Willow tried to politely decline the opportunity to fill Drew’s seat, reminding Jenz that she had never agreed to do so. After giving it some thought, she added, she had decided to decline “your very generous offer.”
Sidwell didn’t very much like that, and was unmoved by Willow’s ramblings about how she needed to focus on helping her kids, Wiley and Amelia, readjust to living under the same roof as her and Drew. Sidwell made it clear he he wanted her in Congress, “so you will take this position.” His tone becoming ever so slightly threatening, he added, “And given what I’ve done for you, we both know that refusing is not an option.”
Jenz told Willow that while he didn’t know if she was qualified for the seat, but what he did know is that her job was to look after a particular constituent: “And that’s me.” A frustrated Willow asked how he knew Laura wouldn’t contest her appointment, and he replied that he had that matter “well in hand.” When she began to protest again, Sidwell became menacing, hissing, “All you need to understand is what I could do to you and your life if you refuse!” Willow responded that she understood. Pleased, Sidwell nudged her to change out of her casual clothing into something more befitting a future congresswoman, as Laura would soon make the big announcement at a press conference.
Composing herself, Willow tied a different approach to reasoning with Sidwell. “I know that you can take my children away,” she told him. “I know I have no choice. But wouldn’t it be better for you to have someone in the position who’s grateful for it rather than someone you have to force to do it?”
Sidwell ordered her to sit down and she reluctantly sank onto the couch next to him. He explained that she was very relatable to voters as a working mother, then made a dig about how it might be difficult to hear herself referred to as Mrs. Cain “since we both know that you loathe your husband.” He reminded her that a position in Congress would bring he not only prestige, but the power “to stand up to Michael Corinthos. Power to keep your children with you forever.”

Willow took that into consideration as Sidwell purred that he was looking for her cooperation, and as long as she provided that, she would live “a long and happy life.”
When Nina showed up, she was surprised to see Sidwell there, and the man claimed he had come by to visit Drew. He then noted the wonderful news he’d just heard from Willow, and Nina wrapped her daughter into a hug, excited that she’d decided to take Drew’s congressional seat. Willow excused herself to put on her new power suit. Once changed, she and Nina headed out to the press conference.
The Games People Play
Sidwell, meanwhile, sauntered into Drew’s room, where Drew tied to signal that he was in duress by blinking out an S.O.S. message. “Oh, Drew, I know that Willow put you in this bed,” taunted Sidwell. “In fact,” he grinned, leaning in close, “she couldn’t have done it without me.”
With relish, Sidwell recounted to Drew how, with the help of some insiders at the PCPD, he had pieced together that Willow was the one who shot him. (One would imagine these are the same insiders who erased the traffic cam footage that would have incriminating Willow!) Sidwell further detailed how he had become convinced that she would be receptive to his offer of access to “a certain paralytic that mimics the symptoms of a stroke and is completely undetectable — the very thing that’s keeping you in your locked-in state.” Since Drew had become a thorn in his side and “nothing but a liability,” Sidwell added, he had joined forces with Willow against him. He chuckled heartily as he then broke the news to Drew that Willow was taking his place in Congress.
Sidwell reminded Drew that he had warned him not to cross him and issued a not-so-veiled threat by commenting that he believed Willow’s political career would skyrocket “once she becomes your widow.” He ordered Drew to stop trying to signal for help, or else suffer a “detrimental effect” on his life expectancy. He also disclosed that Drew’s caretakers were being paid — by him — to look the other way! Drew glared at him helplessly.
At City Hall, Laura began the press conference announcing that Willow would be serving out the rest of Drew’s term. Sidwell took great glee in forcing to Drew to watch on his phone as Willow sidled up to the podium and began addressing her new constituents.
