Coronation Street fans cry ‘this duo’ as stars surprise with BRIT Awards move
Two stars of the ITV soap, Sydney Martin and Cait Fitton, ditched the cobbles for a night on the red carpet at The BRIT Awards

Coronation Street fans were left flooding one of the long-running show’s ‘duos’ as they ditched the cobbles for a night on the red carpet at The BRIT Awards.

It was Jack Whitehall who was hosting the huge music event for his sixth year, but for the first time in his former student stomping ground of Manchester as the prestigious music event moved north for the first time in its nearly 50-year history.

Harry Styles opened the show with a performance of his latest single, Aperture. The former One Direction star, who is known for his flamboyant style, removed the jacket of his Chanel suit for the performance and took to the stage in his suit trousers and tie.

He was joined by a gospel choir for the performance, which opened with synchronised hand shaking and head movements and concluded in the same way. The performance comes three years after his last performance on the Brits stage at the awards in 2023, which saw him take home four gongs following the release of his album Harry’s House.

Meanwhile, Olivia Dean won big at the 2026 Brit Awards, scooping four gongs. She took home awards for artist of the year, album of the year, pop act, and song of the year for Rein Me In, alongside Sam Fender, whose album People Watching the song features on.

But it was Corrie fans who were left surprised to see actress’ Sydney Martin and Cait Fitton at the event and not just as guests as they were also tasked with doing some interviews on the red carpet for ITV.

A video of the Betsy Swain and Lauren Bolton stars was shared onto ITV’s Instagram page with a caption which read: “Cait and Sydney have stepped off the cobbles and are serving us LEWKS on the BRITs red carpet tonight! #BRITs #BRITAwards #SydneyMartin #CaitFitton.”

And fans were seen rushing to respond. @bbethalexandra said: “This DUO !!!!” @editsbychelsx commented: “Most gorgeous girlies.” @elaine.rivett wrote: “Well done girls.” @caitsdestiny replied: “The most stunning girls ever.” @connor_swainfan2025 posted: “Gorgeous girls inside and out.
