CORONATION STREET FANS UNITE IN MASSIVE DEMAND AS THEY UNCOVER A BAFFLING BABY SECRET
Coronation Street fans make ‘more’ demand as they make same baby observation
Fans have noted how the arrival of baby Connie was already bringing the residents of Weatherfield together
Coronation Street fans have issued a demand for ‘more’ as they noted how the arrival of baby Connie was already bringing the residents of Weatherfield together.
As those who follow the ITV soap know, there was a small new arrival on the cobbles at the start of the week, with Carla Connor and Lisa Swain shocked to find a baby left on their doorstep.
While Lisa went after the woman hurrying away, Carla took the baby inside, where she and Betsy Swain questioned who the little one could be, only to discover the baby was Connie, the daughter of Carla’s brother, Rob Donovan, and prison guard Mandy, who were involved in Carla’s kidnapping and Rob’s jailbreak last year.
Despite being sweet with the baby at first, when Carla found out she belonged to Rob and Mandy’s baby and Lisa had agreed that they’ll look after her, Carla’s mood changed, leaving her fiancée surprised by her reaction.
Carla was adamant that Connie couldn’t stay and said that her grandmother couldn’t just leave her on the doorstep like she did. It wasn’t until later that Carla shared how she was really feeling, telling her future wife about how she suffered a miscarriage in 2014, with the heartbreaking loss coming amid the stress of husband Peter’s affair, as well as the investigation into the murder of Tina McIntyre, who was killed by Rob.
After the emotional conversation, in which Carla admitted she felt like Rob had gotten what he had taken from her, Lisa vowed to help her with Connie and the following morning, as seen during Tuesday’s (March 3) episode of Corrie, it turned out to be a difficult night for the Connor-Swains, with them all left bleary-eyed thanks to a crying Connie.
Soon, Ed Bailey stopped by with an old pram for Carla and Lisa to use and when she headed to the cafe with Connie later, Carla was approached by Ronnie Bailey, who offered some clothes of Dee-Dee Bailey’s daughter, Leila, which he hadn’t got rid of following her move to Singapore.
And with Carla struggling to settle Connie, Mary Taylor made a beeline for the little one and Carla was all to willing to hand the tot over. After explaining who Connie was and how she’d ending up staying with them, Carla sweetly asked: “How you doing that?” noting that Connie had stopped stirring in Mary’s arms.
It then led to a sweet scene where Mary teach Carla how best to soothe the new arrival, leaving Corrie fans gushing on social media and making the same demand. @missmollybruton said: “This might be my favourite scene of the episode. Carla clearly struggling, but wanting to try and wanting to learn. Mary helping, not judging but just giving sage advice to help her and reassure her. Corrie has always been about community and this was a perfect example of that.”
@ThomasR14336083 commented: “Best scene of the episode. So good to see the community rallying to support & help Carla & Lisa with Connie. Mary is Supernanny of the street, wish she had a story of her own, criminally underused.” @NoniFlax101 wrote: “Gorgeous scenes tonight with Mary and the Bailey boys helping Carla and Lisa with baby Connie. #Corrie.”
@DrSwarla2025 shared: “Love how everyone on the street is rallying round to help Lisa and Carla with Connie, Ed dropping off a pram Ronnie with clothes and Mary giving Carla confidence with Connie. This is what Corrie is about. #corrie #Swarla.” @carlacharityx noted: “Something really special in seeing residents of the street, and characters we never usually see interact, coming together bc of little baby connie #corrie.” @justwlwthings added: “Today’s scenes were so cute!! Ed, Ronnie and Mary all interacting/helping out with Connie was precious. This is what Corrie has been missing lately, the street is a community where people look after each other. More scenes like these please!!”
