The dad of George Knight, who is very much a villain on the square, has lung cancer, with his ill-health set to be shown on screen this week.

In the first instalment of the week, Eddie claims that he wants to make things right with George before he dies following the birth of George’s daughter Ivy.

Little Ivy was born prematurely early this year, with the tot and her mum Nicola sent home tonight.

Struggling with her return to Walford, Nicola kicked out her loved ones and well-wishers who were in her home to welcome her back.

Gina Knight then speaks to Nicola, reminding her she is a good mum and that her son Harry wouldn’t be where he is now if it wasn’t for her.

While all of this is going on, George misses a series of calls on his phone.

Nicola tells him off in case it was the hospital calling, but it was actually his estranged father.

Picking up the phone and asking who was there, Nicola heard it was Eddie on the other end.

Keeping the information about who had called from George, Nicola paid Eddie a visit in the hospital.

Racist Eddie murdered George Knight’s biological dad in a racially-motivated attack after effectively buying George for his wife to raise.

When Nicola visits Eddie, he confirmed that he has lung cancer, claiming he wants to make things right with George.

Nicola made it clear that George will want nothing to do with him.

“You are a scumbag, and as far as George is concerned, you’re still inside, and that suits him down to the ground,” Nicola said.

Eddie then explained how he was only let out for lung cancer treatment.

But learning of his terminal illness left her taken aback and stunned.

The evil killer was finally brought to justice decades later and sent to prison in 2024 for his crimes, with him now on his death bed.
