On General Hospital on Thursday, April 2, the fallout from Marco’s (Adrian Anchondo) death and Cullum’s (Andrew Hawkes) shooting continued to ripple through Port Charles. Lulu (Alexa Havins) shared her concerns about Rocco (Finn Carr) with “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey), Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) asked Brad (Parry Shen) for help, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) gave Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) some information that surprised him, Pascal (Marc Forget) lashed out at Lucas (Van Hansis), and Ric (Rick Hearst) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) made a bold suggestion to Laura (Genie Francis). Get all the details about the episode below.

Leave Well Enough Alone

On Pier 55, Lulu told “Nathan” how terrified she was that Rocco would tell someone the truth. Speaking as Nathan, Cassius explained that he’d had a split second to decide to protect Rocco, and they had to stick to the story. Lulu fretted that the police would somehow tie the shooting to Rocco, but “Nathan” promised that he’d do everything in his power to make sure they didn’t uncover anything. Noting how much the situation was torturing her son, Lulu said Rocco needed a professional to talk to and suggested her stepfather, but “Nathan” pointed out that Kevin might want to tell Laura, which would put her in an uncomfortable position as mayor. The more people who knew the truth, “Nathan” added, the greater the risk to Rocco. Determined to find a way out of the mess, Lulu wanted to dig around to prove that Cullum was dirty, but “Nathan” warned that might make things worse for Rocco, and they had to leave things alone.

Meanwhile, Brad showed up at Britt’s office with a flask so she could drown her sorrows. He contended that she was better off that Jason got carted away before he could desert her. A distressed Britt responded by slapping him. She then unloaded on Brad about everything that had gone wrong at the pier, including that Jason told her to inform the police that he shot Cullum.Brad wondered who Jason was protecting, but balked when Britt asked him to help her figure that out. Crying that loving her might have cost Jason everything, Britt pointed out that Cullum was the bad guy, not Jason, and that she was still in danger. Brad choked on a swig when Britt admitted that she missed her one chance to kill Cullum, then told her to let him know the next time she tried to murder someone so he could help her hide the body. The two then went to Pier 55 so Britt could retrace her steps from that night and try to figure out who Jason was protecting. Brad encouraged his friend to honor Jason’s choice if she really loved him, because digging around would go against what Jason had asked her to do.

Change of Plans

Lucas went to Wyndemere prepared to confront Sidwell over the chain of events he set in motion that led to Marco’s death. But when Marco’s father vowed that the killer would be brought to justice and asked if Lucas would stay at Wyndemere so they could lean on each other in their grief, Lucas saw an opportunity and agreed to remain on Spoon Island. Later, Pascal entered the study and snidely told Lucas that he’d make sure his room was clean. When Lucas accused the butler of being drunk, Pascal shouted that he was grieving and it was all Lucas’s fault. Proclaiming that Lucas had used Marco, Pascal yelled that he’d caught Lucas sneaking around the castle and eavesdropping on conversations, then roared that Lucas was the one who should be dead. Pascal ran out of the study, leaving Lucas taken aback by the butler’s unhinged reaction.

Hands Off

At Bobbie’s, Rocco vented to Gio about how much he hated that Danny might never see his father again. Gio assured his brother that supporting Danny was help enough right now, and Jason had survived the unthinkable before. Later, Rocco spilled soda on his bandage and rushed to the restroom just as Lulu entered the diner. Once he came out of the bathroom, Lulu hovered, wanting to make sure his hand wasn’t infected. Rocco told his mom he was fine, he just felt bad about everything that happened, and she promised him that it would all be okay.

Across the room, Emma lamented to Felicia that Anna’s doctor wasn’t pushing her enough to recover, declaring that it was time to bring her grandmother home. Felicia reminded Emma that Anna couldn’t leave France yet because of the outstanding charges against her, and that the private clinic had come highly recommended from Kevin as a place for Anna’s mind to heal. After Felicia left, Gio saw his girlfriend writing Anna a letter. He told her how much he treasured the letters and birthday cards he had from his mother, and suggested that hearing about Emma’s life probably brought her grandmother a sense of comfort.

Stonewalled

At G.H., Ric asked Elizabeth if there was any update on the WSB agent who’d been shot. Liz assumed he wanted to use the info against Jason in some way, given the muddled history between the three of them, but Ric explained that he was actually working with Sonny to bring Jason home. Knowing how important it was for Ric to rebuild his relationship with his brother, Liz theorized that any patient at G.H. who was WSB would recover. Ric then told her that helping Jason was about more than just his brother; he knew how much Elizabeth cared for Jason, and while that would have made him jealous at one point, now that they were starting over, he wasn’t going to let the past affect their future.

In the ICU, Dante asked Cullum why he’d issued a warrant for Jason. Not buying the generic excuse that Jason was a criminal, Dante grew more suspicious when Cullum pointed out that his shooting didn’t fall under the PCPD’s jurisdiction. Dante countered that a shooting in Port Charles was the PCPD’s business, and Cullum retorted that the WSB did the PCPD a favor by taking Jason off their hands. When Cullum advised Dante to focus on his attempted murder, Dante noted that details were sketchy, as Jason refused to answer questions and Britt was adamant that Jason had shot him. Cullum questioned why he, the victim, was being grilled, and when Dante shrugged that he was looking for clarity and context, Cullum continued to stonewall the commissioner. Finally, Dante asked how Cullum knew to find Britt and Jason on the pier that night. When the director replied that a good agent knew when to play their hunches, Dante responded that a good cop did, too.

Trigger Warning

On his way out of the hospital, Dante was stopped by Elizabeth, who asked how he was doing after the altercation with Jason. They agreed that the whole situation seemed off. Dante told Liz that he suspected Cullum was hiding something, but he felt confident the PCPD had the evidence they needed to piece together what had happened. Dante was caught off guard when Liz asked how Rocco was doing after he’d cut his hand.

Meanwhile, Cassius visited Cullum and shared that Sidwell wanted him to use his WSB resources to find out who killed Marco. Cullum said that was unnecessary since he was sure Sonny was behind it. Cassius asked if Jason was the one who’d shot him, and Cullum replied that he’d been looking right at Morgan when it happened, so someone else had to have pulled the trigger.

Take A Stand

Laura informed Sonny that because Sidwell was blaming him for Marco’s death, she’d been advised by Ezra Boyle to rebuke Jason publicly and distance herself from Sonny. Swearing that he didn’t have Marco killed, Sonny agreed that it would be a smart move for Laura to take Ezra’s advice because it would keep Sidwell off her back. She wasn’t keen on the idea of throwing Jason under the bus, especially since she didn’t believe Jason shot Cullum, but Sonny suggested she play along. Laura worried that Jason’s absence left Sonny more vulnerable than ever, but he replied he could take care of himself. Sonny then told Laura that Ric was working as his personal attorney, and he’d told his brother everything about Sidwell — except for Laura’s involvement — to bring the other man down. Laura realized that Sonny needed her to trust Ric, too.

Later, Ric arrived at his brother’s house, and Laura and Sonny explained that she was the other party being blackmailed by Sidwell, They disclosed that Det. Nathan West had also been on the scene that night when Laura’s car broke down. Sonny explained to Ric that he wanted Laura protected if Sidwell came after him for Marco’s death. Ric thought it would be wise for Laura to distance herself from Sonny and encouraged her to hold a press conference because it might buy them some time. Sonny added that Sidwell was going to want payback, and once he figured out that Sonny wasn’t responsible, he’d go after the person who was.
