WAR ON THE COBBLES: DEV AND MAL HIT A DEVASTATING BREAKING POINT AS THEIR HEATED SHOWDOWN EXPLODES
Coronation Street‘s Dev Alahan sees red and throttles Mal Roper next week, after the evil electrician reveals a shocking secret that rocks Bernie’s marriage to the core.
By dropping a massive bombshell about Dev’s wife, is Mal about to wreck Bernie’s relationship just like he planned – in the deluded belief that he can have her all to himself?
“In the heat of the moment, Dev wants Mal dead,” warns our Corrie source. “In fact, Mal’s admission is so awful it prompts Dev to grab him by the throat.
“Has he gone as far as telling Dev about his sickening indecent proposal, and his efforts to blackmail Bernie into bed?”
After tense scenes between him and Bernie at the Chariot Square Hotel, Mal calls in at No.7 to smugly expose some new information to Dev.
Having tried multiple ways to win Bernie’s affections, Mal threatened to break up her family with false claims that Dev was behind his recent attack. He then promised to retract his statement, finally leaving Bernie’s family out of it… but only if she agreed to sleep with him.
Despite Bernie’s skin crawling every time Mal comes near, he’s still deluded enough to believe there’s a chance for them. So after Dev’s violent reaction to the shock admission, Mal then reveals he’ll be waiting in the wings for Bernie once she’s been dumped.
“There’s a web of lies surrounding Bernie, and Dev wants the truth,” continues our spy. “Don’t forget, Dev ended up questioned by police because Bernie chose to keep quiet about Kit being responsible for the original attack on Mal. They’re supposed to trust each other with everything, not keep secrets…”
The next day, Dev corners Kit and makes it clear he knows that he was the one who assaulted Mal. But will he report his son-in-law and widen the divide between him and Bernie?
Realising that he doesn’t want Mal to win, Dev calls round to visit Bernie and puts his heart on the line. Dev offers to take his wife for dinner and help them forget Mal ever existed, and Bernie jumps at the chance to have a fresh start without his threats hanging over her…
But little does Bernie know that Mal has no intention of letting her go. And as husband and wife head out for an evening of reconciliation, menacing Mal watches from the shadows, planning his next sinister move. What fresh nightmare will Bernie face at Mal’s hands?
