Now that was an ending to Monday’s General Hospital that we never saw coming! We’ve been expecting Cullum’s life to be nearing its end for some time now, yes, but we figured Jason would do the deed. Or maybe Britt would somehow get the upper hand and her comeuppance. Heck, with Marco’s life on the line (Cullum stabbed him before dealing with Britt), we wouldn’t have even put it past a furious Sidwell! But Rocco??

Yes, you read that right: Dante and Lulu’s son put a bullet in Cullum’s back. It all went down at the pier, where Rocco was still spying on Britt after Lucas left and Cullum showed up, gun drawn, forcing Britt to hand over the vials. That done, he informed her that she was either going back to Wyndemere, or she was going to prison.

Britt wasn’t going down without a fight, but it wasn’t enough. Cullum threw her down and knocked her unconscious, but before he could put a bullet in her, Jason leapt out and did his protector thing. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough. Cullum seemed to get the upper hand and broke out a baton to beat Jason to death. But there was still a gun out there somewhere on the ground, and before Cullum could act, a shot rang out.

He dropped to the ground and standing behind him was Rocco, gun aimed straight at Cullum’s back. Whether or not Marco lives or dies is still up in the air, but we don’t see Cullum coming out of this alive. And that’s going to create one heck of a dilemma for Dante. Will he have to arrest his own son for killing a man? Would Jason take the fall for the teen?

With Britt unconscious, Jason and Rocco are the only two who know what really happened. We all know that you never can tell with villains whether they’re truly dead or not. But this doesn’t feel like General Hospital set up: Rocco wounded a man to save a life story. It feels a whole lot more like we’ll be dealing with the repercussions of Dante and Lulu’s son killing someone for a long time to come.
