He could even be an altered version of himself. Another possibility is that he is back as Nathan with amnesia, with no memory of who he was or what he did while he was “dead”.
Whoever he may be, he doesn’t appear upset at all about his situation, which is odd. The man woke up, and seven years were lost. His beloved wife, Maxie (Kirsten Storms), is in a coma, she is in a relationship with Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), and he has a son who lived a large part of his childhood without him. That would traumatize anyone, but Nathan seems to be taking it all in stride.

Wouldn’t a husband ask to visit his wife?
