A NEW VILLAIN RISES: THE CROSS-SOAP INVASION THAT PUTS DEBBIE IN MORTAL PERIL!
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has confirmed a dangerous plot for Debbie Webster, as she tries to navigate life behind bars. The businesswoman’s past soon comes back to haunt her and she is targeted by a new villain.
Last week, Debbie received a devastating custodial sentence, condemning her to two years and eight months in prison for a crime she didn’t commit. When she was taken to her cell, she suffered another Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) and ended up in hospital.
In upcoming episodes, lawyer Adam Barlow tries to use the incident as grounds for a sentence reduction, given Debbie’s vascular dementia. But in the meantime, Debbie will remain behind bars, where she will become reacquainted with some old foes.
Later this month, Debbie bumps into Lou Michaelis again and accidentally calls her “Abi”. While explaining her dementia diagnosis to her former neighbour, she is recognised by another inmate called Paula – played by Emmerdale‘s Kelli Hollis.

Having recently buried the hatchet, Lou tells Debbie that Paula is bad news and warns Debbie to keep out of her way. However, Paula rounds on Debbie, reminding her that she once barred her from Chariot Square Hotel.
The next day, Paula suddenly barges into Debbie’s cell and bursts into tears. She says that her boyfriend has dumped her and he’s doing time for aggravated burglary.
