Blue Bloods star Bridget Moynahan has revealed her next TV project after reprising her CBS role as Erin Reagan in the latest offshoot of the hit show Boston Blue, opposite Donnie Wahlberg.
Alongside her long-running role as Erin, Bridget is also known for playing Natasha in And Just Like ThatâŠÂ and its predecessor Sex and the City, as well as Susan in I, Robot opposite Will Smith.
The 54-year-old actress is set to join the regular cast of Huluâs upcoming drama The Land, created by Dan Fogelman (Paradise, This Is Us). Currently in production, the series is set around an NFL team in Cleveland and sounds like the perfect watch for anyone with a Ted Lasso-shaped hole in their TV schedule.
Sports shows have proved a hit with international audiences in recent years, thanks to the success of series such as Heated Rivalry, Finding Her Edge and even Formula 1: Drive to Survive. What is The Land about?
While most of the key details are being kept under wraps, we do know that the new series is set around an NFL team, the Cleveland Browns. And although it centres on football, there are other âprofoundâ storylines woven throughout.
Who stars in The Land?
Christopher Meloni (Law and Order: Organized Crime) leads the cast as the teamâs head coach, Danny, while Bridget Moynahan (Blue Bloods) plays his ex-wife, Belinda.
Meanwhile, Sam Corlett (Vikings: Valhalla) and Tanner Zagarino (Aftermath) play Dannyâs two sons, while William H. Macy (Fargo) is Hank, the football teamâs owner.
Rounding out the cast are Mandy Moore (This is Us) and Chloe Bennet (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Hankâs two daughters, while Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) is the teamâs new General Manager.
What have the creatives said about The Land?
In an interview with Deadline, William H. Macy teased a few details about the upcoming show.
âItâs about a football team, nominally the Cleveland Browns. Itâs called The Land because thatâs what people from Cleveland call it,â he said. âTheyâre brilliant scripts. Theyâre Shakespearean. Itâs about football, but, oh, my lord, the plots are so profound, and Iâm having the time of my life.â
