Benjamin Hollingsworth is teasing what’s to come in Virgin River season 7.

At the end of season 6, the actor’s character, Brady, is left reeling after his girlfriend, Lark (Elise Gatien), skipped town with all of his money.

“Lark bails and jumps ship, and she’s on the run with his money, so of course Brady has to try and figure this out,” Hollingsworth, 41, tells PEOPLE. “He goes to try and find Lark. He tracks her down and really figures out what to do with the money once he gets it. I think that’s a big question for him, and it’s one that’s maybe a little more complex than he thought when he first went out to try and find her.”

In the finale, Brady also professed his feelings for on-and-off again love Brie (Zibby Allen).

“The other big question is what’s going to happen with Brie and Brady,” Hollingsworth says. “Mike [played by Marco Grazzini] also proposed to Brie, so there’s a lot to reconcile and to figure out the season between Brie and Brady and Mike and Brie. I won’t say that the love triangle necessarily continues, but I will say that it’s a season-long journey that I think will have its ups and downs and moments where fans can really feel happy and moments where fans can feel frustrated.”

In July 2025, it was revealed that Virgin River had been renewed for a eighth season by Netflix, making it the longest-running English-language drama series on the streamer, per Deadline.

Hollingsworth — who shares sons Hemingway, 8, and Gatsby, 6, and daughter Juniper, 4, with wife Nila Myers — says he “got the script” for his latest project, Karen Kingsbury’s The Christmas Ring, right after wrapping Virgin River season 7 in Vancouver and British Columbia.

“I was saying it’d be nice to go somewhere different with the family, and I was talking to my wife and she was like, ‘Yeah, we just got to put it out there,’” he recalls. “Then, two days later, we got this offer to shoot in Nashville. I immediately turned to my wife and was like, ‘Well, that didn’t take long.’ “

“Not only was the location appealing, but having Kelsey Grammer and Jana Kramer and Karen Kingsbury all attached made it an easy decision for me,” he continues. “But I also try and make sure that each of my films is a little bit different, especially because I’ve done a number of Christmas movies. This one just felt different right out of the gate.”

Karen Kingsbury’s The Christmas Ring is in theaters now, while Netflix hasn’t announced an official release date for seasons 7 or 8 of Virgin River.

If the show continues the pattern it’s followed of releasing new seasons towards the end of every year, then fans can likely expect the seventh installment to drop at the end of 2025.
